Pastoral Mentor

Pastoral Care is becoming a vital service within education, and we have seen a significant rise in the demand for this provision across all our schools. They are focused on providing support, mentoring and care the physical and emotional welfare of their students.  As a Pastoral Mentor you will operate a centralised student hub to offer mentoring and counselling to students who may not have that support network around them.
Working under the direction of the Pastoral Lead, you will co-ordinate the support and provision for students who need help in overcoming barriers to learning. By developing these essential structures you will play an integral part in raising standards of behaviour for learning.
We are looking for someone who has high expectations and a commitment to creating strong relationships with students, parents, staff and external agencies. We are seeking passionate and driven individuals with excellent communication and organisational skills and a desire to make a difference to the lives of our students and their communities.
What to expect from applicants?
We would like applicants to have a proven background in supporting children or young people. However, this does not need to be within an education setting. Individuals with a background in social services or other similar settings are encouraged to apply.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:
-        A background in supporting vulnerable children or young adults. Either, within an education or other similar setting such as social services.
-        A motivated and empathetic approach
-        A genuine and real interest in working within an education setting.
