Pastoral Mentor / Student Support Worker

Pastoral Mentorwith excellent communication skills and the resilience to support a range of students pastorally is required to join a well-established Academy Trust based in Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire.

Training Provided - Whilst previous experience in a similar role is desirable, it is not essential for this role as training will be provided.

SALARY: £22,737 per annum FTE / Actual Annual Salary £18,446 per annum

LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 35 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm, Term Time only (39 weeks)

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a motivated and committed Pastoral Mentorwith excellent communication skills and the resilience to support a range of students pastorally.

Working as the Pastoral Mentor you will help students to maximise their potential. Adaptability is essential as is the capacity to relate well to both students and teachers.

As the Pastoral Mentor you will have the passion to enable students to develop their character and become well rounded and independent individuals.

A desire to make a difference will be equally valued along with a good sense of humour. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential. You will be working alongside the Directors of Progress and Achievements (Heads of Year) and Family Support Worker on the pastoral team.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Organisational skills and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload

• High level of communication skills - verbal and written

• Team player with enthusiasm, perseverance, flexibility and adaptability

• Willingness to problem solve

• Ability to work under pressure

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
