**Pastoral Officer**

Veritas Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Pastoral Officer for a school located in East Leeds. As a Pastoral Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the well-being and behavior management of our students.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Toilet Access Requests:**
- Collecting students from lessons when they request access to the toilet.
- Supervising students during toilet breaks and ensuring a safe return to the classroom.

2. **Support for Students Struggling to Regulate:**
- Assisting students who have been removed from lessons and are struggling to regulate.
- Ensuring that students are ready to enter the classroom or proceed to the next lesson.

3. **Medical Requests:**
- Attending to medical requests, seeking advice if necessary (no administration of first aid).
- Communicating effectively with relevant personnel regarding medical concerns.

4. **Communication with Pastoral Team:**
- Passing on important communications to the pastoral team.
- Collaborating with colleagues to provide comprehensive support for students.

5. **Monitoring Online Behavior Platform:**
- Regularly checking the online behavior platform.
- Responding promptly to behavior incidents and requests for support.

6. **Isolation Management:**
- Collecting students and escorting them to isolation when necessary.
- Ensuring a respectful and supportive environment in isolation.

7. **Break and Lunch Duties:**
- Supervising students during break and lunch periods.
- Promoting positive interactions and a safe environment.

**Qualifications and Skills:**

- Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and discretion.
- Understanding of behavior management strategies.
- First aid training is desirable but not essential.
