We are inviting applications for the role of Pastoral Support Officer at our secondary school in Wakefield. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting pupil behaviour, welfare, and attendance, under the guidance of senior staff. We are looking for someone who is flexible, responsive, and committed to creating a nurturing environment that promotes both educational and personal growth.
Day-to-day of the role:- Collaborate with Pastoral Intervention Mentors to develop and deliver preventative and early intervention strategies.
- Make appropriate referrals to specialist services and agencies to support pupil welfare.
- Assist in times of crisis by working with mentors to support pupils in regulating their behaviour.
- Utilise TeamTeach and other strategies effectively to improve pupil behaviour and welfare.
- Engage with pupils and their families to foster a supportive environment conducive to educational and personal development.
- Proven experience in a pastoral or welfare role within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of behavioural management strategies, including TeamTeach.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of services and agencies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with pupils and families.
- A strong commitment to the welfare and development of pupils.
