We have an exciting opportunity for a Pastry Commis Chef to join our Kitchen team. This role is a based in our Main Hospital site in Central London (W1G 6BW). The London Clinic has a supportive and warm working culture where your contribution is valued, and you can help us deliver our three core values of "We go further", "We work as one" and "We personalise care."Job ProfileAs a Commis Chef you are responsible for supporting the Chef de Partie in delivering consistently high-quality food, monitoring stock rotation and ordering to ensure that items not meeting these standards are not accepted or served.To prepare and make simple food and to demonstrate and help maintain high levels of service that consistently exceeds the expectations of our members.Job Type:
This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week.Salary:
£25,043 per annumLocation:
20 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6BW (Baker Street and Regents Park stations).Benefits package:Contributory pension scheme (total annual contribution up to 20%).Private Medical Healthcare.33 day's annual leave (Inclusive of bank holidays).Season ticket travel loan, family friendly benefits, and a wide range of discounts with a variety of retailers/services, plus much more.We also offer excellent career development; with clear career pathways and access to further education.Key DutiesMonitor daily food preparation, product quality and duties assigned by senior chefs to meet the standard and the quality set.Coordinates daily tasks with the Chef de PartiesTake guidance from senior chefs to estimate the daily production needs to ensure food waste is kept to a minimum.Awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards and seek out guidance when unsure if you notice any change.Skills & ExperienceMinimum of 1 years' experience in a similar role is essential.Recent completion or currently undertaking NVQ L2 or 3 in Professional Cookery is advantageous.Strong written and spoken English skills are essential.Good understanding of UK food production laws & requirements.
