Job description
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and suitably qualified HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to apply for the Band 8a post of Pathology Training, Education and Development Manager within the Pathology Department at Hywel Dda University Health Board.
The post holder will act as the training Lead for Hywel Dda University health board pathology service.
The successful post holder will join the team at an exciting time and will become a key stakeholder in the development of the innovative regional
network of excellence. The individual will initially be employed by HDUHB until a regional management model is established. The post will then transition into a regional role.
The post holder will have the skills, knowledge and experience to promote a learning culture across all areas of Pathology. They will provide expert advice, information and guidance to the Operational Managers, Site Managers and other senior staff on matters relating to Pathology Education and training. This will include travel between various sites on a relatively regular basis – as dictated by site requirements.
The successful candidates hospital base can be discussed at interview.
Duties will include, but not be limited to, take the lead in maintaining the training status of the laboratory, promote and support training within pathology as well as with external bodies and academic institutions and Development of training plans and associated training materials.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
