Job overview
A vacancy has arisen in the Nottingham Children's Hospital, Family Health Division for a full time Patient Pathway Administrator (Audio Typist) to support our well established team.
Core working hours are Monday to Friday, between 8am to 4pm. The appointed person will have the opportunity to work from home on a rota basis after initial training.
The appointed person will be based at the City Hospital, with the possibility of a requirement to cover work at the Queen's Medical Centre as required.
Working as part of a team the post-holder will provide high quality audio typing and an administrative service to consultants and their teams.
You will need to be a fast and accurate Audio Typist. A sound knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.

Accurately transcribing outpatient clinic letters and miscellaneous clinical correspondence including advice and guidance to a high standard with specified timescales.
Responsible for the production of discharge summaries, clinical papers and material for publication from either audio or copy typing.
Use judgement and initiative to prioritise the importance/urgency of particular requests within defined guidelines.
Undertake peer audit of clinical correspondence to ensure a high standard of accuracy and quality of work.
Ability to exchange sensitive or contentious information with diplomacy and in a confidential manner ensuring timely handover to relevant staff.
To undertake other specialty specific duties in accordance with Trust policies and procedures to facilitate the Patient Pathway.
Ensure patient data quality is accurate at all times.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Working as part of a team the post-holder will provide high quality audio typing and an administrative service to consultants and their teams.
You will need to be an experienced Audio Typist with proven work based experience. A sound knowledge of medical terminology is desirable. The successful candidate will have obtained at least Five GCSEs grade C or above, including English Language; RSA III typing qualification (or equivalent work based typing experience) . You will be competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages. Experience of hospital systems including Winscribe, Medway PAS and NOTIS is desirable but not essential.
You will be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational and communication skills and be well motivated and reliable. You will be able to understand and accurately convey verbal and written information and be able to remain calm under pressure. You will be able to work as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of a busy department. You will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality issues and your behaviour will be consistent with the Trust’s Values and Behavioural standards.

- RSA 3 typing qualification or proven work based audio typing experience
- 5 GCSE's or equivalent - Grade C or above (must include English)

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
