Job description


An exciting opportunity for a 12 months Fixed term post has arisen for a Patient Pathway Coordinator in the Urology Department. You will have the unique opportunity to support and gain experience within the Specialist Service.
The post holder will provide a pivotal administrative service to consultants and their clinical teams. They will work flexibly with the other team members within the Clinical Support Unit and provide a professional, efficient administrative service to patients. The main function of the role will be to coordinate and schedule the Patient Pathway, from referral to first outpatient appointment, through diagnostics, treatment planning, treatment, and follow-up, highlighting any potential delays in the pathway and ensuring accurate data collection to support the process.
This post is 1.0 WTE to cover Monday to Friday and the working hours are 9am-5pm.
We are looking for an independent, enthusiastic and well organised person to join our busy team. The role of the Patient Pathway Coordinator is to work closely with clinicians and Patient Pathway Lead to ensure that the care pathway of all patients is effectively managed.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and organising skills, attention to detail, IT skills and ability to communicate across all levels. The successful candidate will be providing support to the clinical teams and ensuring continuation of service at all times.

This role will be working alongside the Patient Pathway Coordinators within Urology Department. All staff are supported with their training needs and regularly share learning opportunities within the department.

This role will primarily be focused on supporting the Clinical Team within Urology Department.
Duties will include: typing of correspondence, chasing results, cashing up clinics, managing department inbox, fully utilising clinics, recording and validating activity on PAS systems, and liaising with internal stakeholders. Good typing skills/audio essential and medical terminology an advantage.
