Role: Payroll Officer - Full Time & Permanent
Salary: Up to 30,000 per annum dependent upon experience
Benefits: 30 days' Annual Leave, rising to 35 day's with length of service, + Bank Holidays, Life Assurance, Employee Discount Scheme & Medical Cash Plan.

What we are looking for
We are seeking a competent payroll professional to support the payroll team in processing pay for the Polaris Community. The role will require the candidate to be able to support the payroll team in processing pay for the companies within our community.
The candidate will have a high level of understanding of UK legislation and be able to apply this to their work. It is desirable that the candidate has an understanding of pension administration for schemes such as LGPS, GPP, Teachers Pensions and salary sacrifice pension arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
To assist in all aspects of the preparation and production of the monthly payrolls for the Polaris Community. Liaise with our business partners to ensure that pay records and absence records are maintained accurately.Maintain records relating to expenses and benefits, including regularly comparing car fleet records with payroll records and resolving any differences.To assist in the preparation of statutory year-end tax returns such as P35, P60, P14 and P11D's. Reconcile payroll records and record information relevant to year end on a monthly basis. Maintain information required for P11D - business miles, payments for medical health care etc.To keep updated with relevant changes in employment law, statutory legislation, Real Time Information, Auto Enrolment etc.Work to tight deadlines and respond in a flexible way to the changing demands of the businessTo support any process changes the company wishes to introduce.To research and familiarise oneself on changes in employment law, legislation, tax and national insurance regulations etc.Key Requirements
Payroll knowledge and understanding of UK payroll legislation.CIPP or equivalent qualification desirableExperience of process active payrollsFlexible in approach with strong organisational and prioritisation skillsThe ability to work to deadlines and deliver on timeA team player with a positive attitude and the ability to be flexible yet have a disciplined approachInquisitive mind with a logical approach to problem solvingFor an informal chat about this new role, please contact Oliver Martin on (phone number removed)
The successful candidate will be required to complete a standard DBS check, the cost of which will be met by Polaris.
