Payroll Officer

Our client, an established Accountants & Business advisor firm based just south of Gateshead are seeking to hire a Payroll OfficerASAP! They provide comprehensive accounting services to a diverse client base.

They are seeking a meticulous and dedicated individual to join a supportive and collaborative work environment. The right candidate would be operating in a team of 3 and has a great opportunity to impress in the business and take responsibility for their payroll services.

Payroll Officer - Position Overview

• Payroll Processing: Accurately processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for multiple clients.
• Compliance: Ensuring compliance with current payroll legislation and regulations.
• Deductions: Calculating and processing statutory and voluntary deductions, including tax, National Insurance, pensions, and other deductions.
• Reports: Generating payroll reports and summaries for clients.
• Records Maintenance: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date payroll records and employee information.
• Client Liaison: Responding to client inquiries related to payroll, providing timely and accurate information and assistance.
• Year-End Processes: Assisting with year-end processes, including P60s and P11Ds.
• Continuous Improvement: Identifying and implementing improvements to payroll processes and systems.

Payroll Officer - Position Requirements

• Qualified by experience or a relevant qualification.
• Experience in finance clerical roles.
• Experience of dealing with large volumes of data and financial information.
• Good knowledge of Outlook and Excel.
• Excellent numerical skill and attention to detail.
• Willing to go the extra mile for their clients.
• Responsible and Well Organised.
• A strong understanding of Corporation Tax And Allowances is beneficial.

Payroll Officer - Position Remuneration

• Salary of £27,000 to £30,000 depending on experience
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays
• Birthday off
• Monday to Friday
• Flexible hours
• Death in Service
• Company pension
