Job description

Are you a talented and highly motivated communications, events and digital engagement expert with significant experience of developing and implementing effective communications strategies? Are you passionate about playing a leading role in overseeing all aspects of communications, events and digital engagement activity working with a wide range of industrial and academic stakeholders? The Programme Coordination Team (PCT) is being convened by the University of Leeds, working in collaboration with three fashion and textile sub-networks as part of the UKRI Circular Fashion and Textile Programme: Network Plus. The PCT team will coordinate activity and provide connective support across all three sub-networks. Based within the LITAC Operational Team at the University of Leeds the role of PCT Communications and Events Officer will report to and support the PCT Network Manager. As part of wider PCT delivery, the PCT Administrator will provide support to this post-holder in the operational delivery of events. You will work closely with the PCT Network Manager, PCT Administrator and other members of the LITAC Operational Management team. You will assist with the effective delivery of the Programme Coordination Team’s vision and remit ensuring that all three sub-network communications are efficiently coordinated and effectively augmented by stand-alone PCT engagement activities. You will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with different stakeholders. You will communicate key messages through a broad range of media including digital channels, press releases, newsletters, briefing notes and news stories. You will develop and maintain digital media channels, and the PCT Network Plus website, develop PCT (and assist with sub-network) promotion and organisation of a variety of events, workshops and speaker engagement activities. You may be required to represent the University of Leeds and the PCT engagement events, which will require travel within the UK. You will have a degree and a proven track record in developing and implementing effective Communications and Events strategies.
