We need an AWEsome Peer Review Lead to join our team at AWE. You will be leading a technical team to deliver a programme of reviews of critical safety documentation. You will also need to manage a wide range of stakeholder engagement across the organisation at all levels.
Location: Our offices are based in Berkshire, RG7 4PR between Reading and Basingstoke with onsite parking. You will need to be on site up to 50 percent of the time.
Salary Range: £58,220 to £89,000

This role offers a varied workload, with a unique exposure to the entire organisation. You will be at the front of new projects, facilities and capabilities which are coming online. As part of the Internal Regulation function, you will play an important role to help ensure safe delivery of our important mission.
A typical day could look like this:
• Establishing and delivering the Internal Regulation strategy
• Liaising with programme management leaders to understand the pipeline of work that will require Peer Review
• Providing a strategic view of the health of safety submissions across the business
• Developing and motivating a team of Peer Reviewers with the knowledge, skills, experience and professional certifications to effectively deliver the integrated Internal Regulation Peer Review programme
• Ensuring reviews and assessments are carried out with appropriate regard to programme scheduling requirements
• Taking responsibility for issue resolution in the first instance
Experience and skills we would like you to have:

  • Performance and Task Management
  • Safety case understanding/experience
  • Review of complex and detailed safety documents
  • Leadership in a Safety related role leading technical regulators within fields such as nuclear, energy, oil, engineering or science
  • Technical competence within an assurance or oversight role

You may not tick every box and that is fine with us, attracting the right people is just as important as having technical experience in every aspect of our roles so we d still love to hear from you.
