Starting Salary: £ 9,233.57- £12,510 depending on hours (£20,850 full time equivalent)

Location: Lancaster, with flexibility on work location where possible however some office attendance will be required

We're looking for a dedicated, highly organised and proactive People and Culture (HR) Assistant to join our team. The role is part time and can be worked flexibly across the week - we are happy to discuss what works best.
About the team
In the role of People and Culture Assistant, you will undertake administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the People and Culture team. You will also get to be involved in administering wellbeing and engagement activities. This role is definitely varied and you will continually learn new things. The team will value your input and there will be lots of opportunities to put forward your ideas to improve the employee life cycle in line with our strategic aims.

Your responsibilities will include:
- First Point of Contact - addressing questions and efficiently managing general emails that come into the People inbox. You will be dedicated to providing excellent customer service.
- Administration - Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail when handling administrative tasks such as drafting letters, managing documentation, and supporting various People and Culture processes.
- Digital Fluency - Utilise digital tools to maintain and update the People and Culture system, ensuring accurate employee records, processing joiners and leavers, and conducting data checks and audits.
- Employee Support - Offer first-line advice and training to managers on recruitment processes, our applicant tracking system, and initial stages of absences, contributing to a positive employee life cycle.
- One Team Ethos - You will be a team player ensuring you support your team members when needed as our team has a one-team ethos and we will always help each other.

- Qualified to GCSE level 4 or above (grade C), or equivalent, in English and Maths
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of seniority in an organisation, both verbally and in writing, to provide excellent customer service
- Experience of using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Proactive mindset with a can-do attitude and willing to contribute to continual improvement of processes
- Ability to organise and prioritise work with experience of achieving agreed targets and working to deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and with others in a team
If you have the following attributes, then we’d be even more impressed:
- CIPD Level 3 Qualification
- Experienced and confident user of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Previous experience in an HR or Recruitment role
- Experience of accurately inputting to an HR system
- Experience of taking notes
