Job description

Job Posted: 8 March 2024

  • Contract Term: Permanent
  • Location: Ryde, Isle of Wight
  • Contract Type: Full time
  • Salary: Dependent on experience
  • Industries: Administration Health & Social Care HR & Training
Closing Date: 12pm, Friday 22nd March 2024

The People and Culture team at Ryde House Group are focused on creating a positive workplace culture that aligns with our organisation's vision, mission, and values. We are recruiting a People and Culture Assistant to help us drive this positive workplace culture by taking an active interest in the people we work with, whilst demonstrating outstanding practices and maintaining compliance.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with change, helping drive the company to be leaders in innovation; although attention to detail is crucial, the ability to think 'big picture' is paramount to achieving this. Experience in HR, recruitment and payroll is desirable, however skills such as critical thinking, resourcefulness, adaptability and empathy hold more value.

No two days are the same and it’s certainly an environment where you need to be proactive in your approach to scheduled tasks, but also reactive to upcoming tasks and issues. As with all jobs, there are big projects and small tasks, but our approach is the same to all – if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing it right. A few key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Recruitment and compliance.
  • Media and communications (internal and external).
  • Data entry.
  • Supporting staff with queries and requests.
  • Answering telephone queries.
  • Assisting managers with minute taking for investigations and performance related meetings.
  • Collaborating with the Finance team to streamline processes.

We have a range of software and systems that support us in our day-to-day such as Box, Slack, Wrike and Microsoft Office suite, so a tech savvy mind and approach will really help in this role.

The current working hours are between 35 to 45 per week (dependent on the needs of the service). The current work pattern is 9am to 4pm, with additional hours worked flexibly on either side. Salary is competitive and dependent on experience.

As well as job fulfilment and playing a key part in the journey of the individuals we support, we also offer additional employee incentives including:

  • Mental health wellbeing support.
  • Employee reward scheme.
  • Fun days and Annual Staff Awards events.
  • Birthday, Christmas, Easter and ‘just because’ gifts.
  • A company issued MacBook.
  • Discounted gym membership.
  • Paid in-house training plus learning and development opportunities.
  • Competitive salaried pay with paid sick leave.
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays which increases with length of service.

If this sounds like something you’d be excited to be involved in, we’d love to hear from you! Please complete our application form via this link: www.rydehouse.com/application-form
