People Business Partner Volunteering & Community

Summary

We're looking for a People Business Partner, Volunteering & Community to join our South West People Business Partnering team, supporting a portfolio of properties and places in our region across our Somerset and Gloucestershire area and our Dorset and Wiltshire area.

Volunteering and community engagement is central to the Trust, and this role is pivotal in working with places to create opportunities which reach a wider range of people.

This is a fixed term contract due to end when the previous employee returns from parental leave. An anticipated start date is Mid to late April.  At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 12 months.

You’ll see some beautiful places, make a meaningful impact on the engagement of volunteers and communities at our places by working with property and central teams to deliver our Volunteering and Community Ambition.

What you'll be doing

You’ll partner with senior clients to support them in building their approaches to volunteering, community relationships and inclusion. You’ll do this by providing advice, training and coaching as needed at our properties and across the region.

You’ll work closely with regional colleagues to identify and prioritise the support you provide and ensuring solutions are developed with inclusion in mind. You’ll use your experience in collaboration and effective partnering to build trust and will develop capability & confidence through planned training and development activity.

Please note due to the travel required, a full UK driving licence is essential.

With a wide range of skills and experience, we'd love to hear from you, if you have:

• An excellent understanding of good practice in volunteering and volunteer management
• Experience of partnership working and participatory approaches, along with experience of innovative approaches to participation
• Understanding of social trends, different audience motivations and the external context impacting on volunteering and community relationships
• Solid understanding of the relevant legislative requirements relating to the role including safeguarding, access and legal distinctiveness of volunteering
• Strong demonstrable experience of coaching, facilitation and training skills
• Evidence of strong relationship building, and listening skills, which have influenced decision making.
