We are looking for a People Data Analyst to join the People Analytics team at IPO. This is a dynamic and exciting role with development opportunities and the chance to take leading roles in projects. It would suit a member of one of the analytical professions or someone with experience of working in an analytical role.
They will be part of a small and supportive team providing valuable analysis and evidence, upon which senior leaders will make important people decisions. Our work is varied, ranging from delivering centrally commissioned regular reports on our workforce, to providing insights based on bespoke analysis on specific topics of interest for internal customers.
As a People Analyst in this team, they will work on the reporting and analysis of People Data, assisting the team in responding to customer requests, building automated analysis solutions, and performing a range of quality assurance activities. They will use software such as SQL, Excel and Microsoft PowerBI on a day-to-day basis with training provided as needed.
The People Analytics team will together be responsive to customer needs and requirements, and so the successful candidate must be comfortable with engaging widely with stakeholders and customers to produce value-adding products. The role holder will be encouraged to be innovative, creative and challenge the status quo.
Working location
This role will be carried out in-line with IPO Hybrid working arrangements where staff are currently expected to spend at least 20% of their time working onsite from one of our offices. This role is based in our Newport office.

Job description
Key responsibilities will include:
- Manage, clean, extract and aggregate data alongside a range of analytical studies on that data
- Manipulate and link different data sets
- Help with data quality checking and cleaning
- Use tools and techniques for data analysis, data visualisation - this includes using BI tools, such as Power BI
- Use coding and programming skills for data and analytics
- Present data and conclusions logically and concisely in the most appropriate format, while following the Analysis Function standards
- Summarise and present the results of data analysis to a range of customers
- Perform routine statistical analysis and answer queries, which may include the production of reports
Qualifications
To be eligible to apply for this role, you should have one of the following:
• a first or second class honours degree in a numerate subject (2:2 minimum) containing at least 25% taught statistical content (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Sciences, Business Studies, Psychology, Geography or similar)
• a higher degree, e.g. a MSc or PhD, in a subject containing formal statistical training (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Sciences, Business Studies, Psychology, Geography or similar)
• relevant experience of working in an analytical role for a minimum of two years Benefits:
