Job Title:            People Operations Advisor

Department:      People & Culture

Salary:                £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience

Location:            Shoreham-by-Sea (Hybrid)

Join our People and Culture team as a People Operations Advisor, where you'll play a key role in contributing to creating a place where people love to work.  We're seeking a proactive and diligent team member to lead on impactful employee life-cycle processes that support our culture here at Focus Group.

The People Operations Advisor owns the delivery of the employee lifecycle to ensure HR initiatives are managed to create the best outcomes, with particular responsibility for the preboarding, onboarding and probation process.

You provide first line advisory support to managers and employees, giving advice and guidance on policy process and be a key contact in supporting the integration of the acquisitions from a People Operations perspective.

You will act as a mentor to the People administrators in the team, ensuring that the People Inbox is managed effectively and that all queries are resolved within agreed service levels.

You will have a particular responsibility for HR analytics, ensuring that HR data and Board reporting is of the highest possible standard and drives business performance.

You work with and challenge the business to drive the people agenda for the overall success of the business.

Requirements

Principal Responsibilities/Duties

  • Own the delivery of the Group’s employee lifecycle from pre-boarding through to exit, ensuring a consistent employee experience. This may include but is not limited to preboarding, onboarding, probation, objective setting, performance management, deployment of the reward process, sickness absence and leaver process
  • Own and drive the preboarding, onboarding and probation process, ensuring that regulatory requirements are met, employees are onboarded effectively into the Group, that cultural, business and performance expectations are reinforced and work with the people experience team to project manage regular improvements
  • Monitor and advise on the probationary review process, ensuring that it is fit for purpose and adopted by management
  • Act as the first point of contact for the People administrators in the team, providing mentorship and ensuring that the team is visible, the People Inbox is managed effectively, that all queries are resolved within agreed service levels and that queries are escalated to other parts of the team as necessary
  • Provide support to the People and Culture Administrators in processing maternity, paternity and shared parental leave requests
  • Provide first line advice and support to managers on people related processes, including absence management when trigger points are hit and, escalating queries/cases to the wider HR team as necessary
  • Support managers with the interpretation of HR policies and procedures
  • Provide support for ER case management where required including drafting invite, outcome and appeal letters in line with policy and ACAS code of practice as well as note take during investigation, disciplinary, grievance, absence management and flexible working hearings as necessary
  • As new businesses are acquired, support the project management of HR integration from a people, process, and system perspective with travel to other offices as deemed necessary
  • Support with the consultation change process as acquisitions integrate into the business
  • Support in the monitor, review and updating of HR policies to ensure these are in line with current legislation
  • Deliver quarterly Onboarding session to new starters as necessary, introducing them to the company alongside key members of the board Make recommendations for how we can scale people administration processes as the business grows
  • Continually be up to date on legislative changes that impact the processes within People Operations, communicating and raising awareness of changes within the wider team
  • Be a champion for change when new systems or policies are rolled out across Group People Analytics
  • Own the production, analysis and monitoring of key HR metrics and insights. Ensure data is robust and accurate, identify areas of concerns and trends and recommendations for improvement.
  • Work with the Head of People Operations to ensure that data enables the business to manage its people effectively and measure the success of people initiatives
  • Produce monthly People Board reports and other reporting required by the business
  • Manage the HRIS including data integrity and system developments, ensuring it is fit for purpose.
