Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity here at City & Guilds as People Partner in our People team. You will provide a combination of operational support and advice to business managers covering the people related aspects of delivering the business strategy, plan, and priorities.

You will be working on a hybrid basis with a mix of working from home and one of our main office hubs (either London or Wakefield).

This appointment will be made on merit.

We believe that diversity and inclusion strengthen and enriches us, and that it is the responsibility of everyone at the City & Guilds Group to drive this value. As ethnic minority groups and disabled people are currently under-represented within the Group, we particularly encourage and welcome applications from these communities.

About The Role

With guidance from your Senior People Partner, you will work with the business leaders to embed ONE City & Guilds people initiatives, such as performance management approach, EES, pay frameworks and DEI.

Our successful candidate will coach and advise leaders, providing expertise in people policy and practice and develop solutions for all people related issues. You will need to work with managers to understand their needs, and provide support and advice on the resolution of employee relations issues.

You will provide direct manager coaching, mentoring and support for resource planning, key recruitment, complex/high risk ER matters and talent planning.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have proven HR experience in an HR generalist role including having gained experience of managing complex and high-risk ER cases in a union environment.

You will bring Employee Relations case management expertise and have experience in upskilling managers around people policies.

Our successful candidate will be comfortable working at pace in a fast-moving environment where priorities need to be adapted regularly. You should be resilient, able to manage change and can challenge and influence stakeholders at all levels of the business.

You will have experience of managing projects across teams and functions, including change programmes.

Whilst not mandatory, it would be beneficial if you have experience of working in a business partner model with centres of excellence and a centralised people services team.

You would be willing to travel to various office locations in the UK.
