What you'll be doing…
Participate in and comply with arrangements set out in the Company's Health and Safety Policy and relevant method statements, risk assessments and polices as well as the Theatre's Fire Risk Assessment and Evacuation Plans, including training and rehearsal drills.
Respond to first aid incidents involving staff, cast and crew; and be on hand to assist with first aid incidents involving customers. Training provided if not currently certified.
Ensure customers using the Theatre's facilities are doing so in the manner intended and that customers are safe throughout their visit.
Report any maintenance issues (such as damaged stair nosing or loose handrails etc.) for the attention of the building venue technicians.
Implement the control measures identified for the prevention of fire, including the correct use and maintenance of fire doors and fire-fighting equipment.
Ensure the fire panel and alarm sensors are in the correct "mode" during performances.
Pre-show checks of the venue to ensure that all emergency exits are unlocked, clear (internally and externally) and that emergency exit doors operate properly; ensuring all fire escape routes are clear and free from obstructions; ensuring all internal fire doors are closed.
Carry out proactive routine patrols of the venue to identify any Fire Safety or physical security issues and resolve where appropriate and/or report to theatre management.
Personally investigate any fire alarm activations - communicating with Management and LX teams.
Assist the Technical department in the safe operation of pyrotechnics or similar items on stage. Be on hand with suitable extinguishing media during the performance when they are in operation. Training will be provided.
In the event of a fire breaking out, tackle the fire with the appliances provided if it is safe to do so without taking personal risk.
