Are you ready to drive the coordination and management of permits for a dynamic council? We're seeking a Permit Scheme Coordinator to join our team, taking a pivotal role in upholding statutory coordination and network management duties.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and enforce works on the highway network, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
- Assess the impact of works, enforcing permit conditions to minimize disruption.
- Electronically process all permit applications for Street Works coordination.
- Monitor contractor performance, determining sample inspections based on assessments.
- Manage charges for performance-based inspections and coordinate payment processes.
- Enforce compliance with relevant legislation and Codes of Practice.
- Contribute to the development and refresh of local operational procedures.
Requirements:
- Ability to enforce highways-related legislation.
- Independent problem-solving skills, making decisions without senior staff recourse.
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of the national Street Manager system.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation, including Highways Act 1980, New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, and others.
- Previous experience in highways-related enforcement.
