Two exciting and challenging roles have become available within the Permitting Service.
Regime Leads provide a critical role in the Technical leadership of the National Permitting Service. Working closely with colleagues across the business you will lead on important tactical issues for the Regime as well as the longer term and more Strategic.
Your knowledge of the Water industry or Flood Risk Activity Permitting and the complex customers we support will help you to help 100’s of people in the Permitting Service as well as negotiating and planning across the organisation.
Some of your responsibilities will include leading on Business Planning, Technical Development, Integration of new policy into delivery and a host of complex issues (can vary from Scientific to Customer to Legal).
Your working day will be varied and it will on occasion be difficult but you will part of a supportive and diverse extended leadership team that support each other.
You will lead a small number of excellent staff directly, their leadership will be amongst your highest priorities.

The team 1
The National Permitting Service comprises 550+ people spread across a number of hub offices Nationally. The Regime leads for Water Quality and Flood Risk reports to the WLB facing Regime Sponsor and forms part of a Technical support unit.
Experience/skills required 1
You will need to be energetic, flexible and able to operate at a wide range of levels. Maybe Deputy Directors one day and new Grade 2' and 3's the next.
A networker who is willing to put themselves out there, constantly looking to build a superb network across the Water Quality and Flood Risk world.
Experienced in working with colleagues across Operations, E&B, FCRM and Legal
Able to find solutions to difficult problems which may not have an obvious "win"
Significant knowledge of Water Regulation (for WQ role) or Flood Risk Permitting (for Flood Risk role); ideally with experience of working with our customers.
Passion for the environment and customer service is a must.
