Do you want to help a primary aged child to develop their own independence and lead a happy life?
Remedy are working closely with local primary schools in Barking and Dagenham, East London who are looking to recruit Personal Care Assistants to support primary aged children on a 1:1 basis with all aspects of Personal Care and hygiene.
Responsibilities
- Assistant and encouraging completion on tasks set by the class teacher
- Ensuring personal hygiene is upheld throughout the day
- Toileting and continence training
- Assisting a child with eating and drinking
- Cooperating with key workers
- Communicating with the teaching and leadership team
Requirements
- Perseverance
- Patience
- Previous experience supporting a child with personal hygiene (preferably six months or more)
- Experience working with children of primary age (preferably six months or more)
- An understanding and knowledge of special educational needs
- Have a willingness to undertake relevant training in relation to the role
- Have safeguarding knowledge
