This role could be based from Hull, York or Leeds.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Public Private Partnerships Lead, the Facilities Manager will be part of a team responsible for ensuring seamless facilities management services are provided to all clients and customers, in particular our PFI school contracts in York, as well as supporting the day to day business of the organisation.
The role will be predominately based in York working with site based FM staff however will also involve working with the wider commercial and customer care teams and therefore will involve travel to Head office in Hull.
- Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm, with 1 hour for lunch (37.5 hours per week)
- Location: York and surrounding areas – ability to work from Hull and Elland offices
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as the key account holder for designated clients and contracts.
- Coordination and management of both Soft and Hard Service contracts including catering and grounds maintenance.
- Oversee and ensure delivery of Planned Maintenance Schedules and Reactive Maintenance in line with SLA’s.
- Reviewing, creating and issuing Risk and Method Statements and Permits, including management of safe operating procedures and liaising with our internal Safety, Environment & Compliance (SEC) Team.
- Supporting the production and provision of reports.
- Conduct building inspections and audits to meet the needs of the business.
- Attendance at operational and contractual meetings as required.
- Keep the CAFM system updated ensuring tasks are closed out correctly and site information is maintained.
- Preparation and coordination of future lifecycle plans and costs where required.
- Oversee the implementation of the water management control measures across the properties.
- Formulating quotations for remedial works and new installations, including been responsible for all quotations sent for York contracts.
- Involvement in bidding and mobilising for new contracts, as well as reviewing and refreshing prices and schedules for variations and renewals alongside the Commercial team.
- Sub-contractor performance management, issuing new contracts and selecting new sub-contractors.
Requirements
Skills and Attributes

Essential
- Full Driving License, valid in the UK.
- Hold IWFM or Facilities Management relevant academic qualifications, or hold Business or Management formal qualifications.
- Previous working knowledge within facilities management or maintenance.
- Hold IOSH Managing Safely training and preferably NEBOSH General Certificate or similar equivalent.
- Knowledge and understanding of budgeting, quoting and ordering.
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety practices and processes.
- Positive and professional attitude and be smart in appearance.
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to liaise with user groups and subcontractors.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a variety of tasks.
- Excellent levels of computer literacy and be comfortable with Microsoft packages (in particular Outlook, Word & Excel).
- The ability to work as a team member in a busy and fast paced working environment.
Desirable:
- Previous working knowledge in a PFI or LIFT contract environment.
