Job Details

As a leading global contract research organization (CRO) with a passion for scientific rigor and decades of clinical development experience, Fortrea provides pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device customers a wide range of clinical development, patient access and technology solutions across more than 20 therapeutic areas. With over 19,000 staff conducting operations in more than 90 countries, Fortrea is transforming drug and device development for partners and patients across the globe.
What if your pharmaceutical skills are what we need to make new drugs safer for patients?
As one of the largest early stage Clinical Research Organizations in the world, we have recently brought to life four ultramodern Clinical Research Units in the UK and US... and the jewel of the crown is our facility at Drapers Yard Leeds. This is a world class, state-of-the-art 65,000 ft² space with 100 beds (and growing), fully dedicated to Early Clinical research (and 7 minutes walking from the train station!)
This is where you come in, because we are growing our investigational research pharmacy team and are looking for our next Pharmacy Technician.
  • This is a full-time and permanent opportunity, working hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday with very occasional weekend shift (typically under 4 hours and compensated with flexi time or overtime pay.)

WHO YOU ARE
  • A RegisteredPharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council in the UK

  • Have a proven track record of working in a fast-paced and demanding hospital or industrial pharmacy setting

AND/OR
  • Have experience working in cGMP, GCP and/or GLP environments

A big PLUS: hands-on experience in sterile, aseptic product manipulation in clean rooms
(Haven´t you registered yet with the GPC? We are open to consider your interest if you can demonstrate the experience explained above).
ON A NORMAL DAY, YOU WILL...
Learn. And grow. No two days will be the same; and this is because you will be exposed to a wide variety of Therapeutic Indications and study types (ascending dose, first-in-human, food effect, drug to drug interactions, etc.)
Regardless of your projects, every day you will run the pharmacy operations with respect to inventory, use, supply, storage, and disposal of investigational drug products. In particular:
Gain a profound understanding of all allocated protocols regarding Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) handling.
Reception, storage, packaging and disposition of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and IMP
  • This is based on a thorough maintenance and control of complete Pharmacy Inventory Management records with respect of the IMP/ API,
  • Ensure the continued supply of any pharmacy stock items
  • Ensure each supply is uniquely identified and integrity of blind is maintained,
  • Create manufacture/assembly/dispensing instructions and the generation of labels for packaging,
  • Final inventory control, after production is finished.

Drug Production: produce doses for phase I human Clinical trials in a research setting working under cGMPs and GCPs.
  • Partnering with sponsor´s Clinical Research Associates on their data review visits to ensure Fortrea was compliant with the protocol, appropriate regulations and GMP/GCP requirements.

THERE IS ONE THING THAT ONLY FORTREA CAN OFFER...
We have both worlds under the same roof: the clinic and a cutting-edge cGMP pharmacy. What does it mean for you as a pharmacist?
You will be able to manufacture new sterile and non-sterile drug products with the clinical trial participants next door! You will witness firsthand the dosing and safety as they are being investigated in real time. When the drug you worked with gets approved, you know you´ll touch many patient´s lives around the world.
Embark on a fulfilling career as you support us on our mission “To help make life-changing healthcare solutions possible”. Apply now and be part of an extraordinary journey.
Fortrea is actively seeking motivated problem-solvers and creative thinkers who share our passion for overcoming barriers in Clinical trials. Our unwavering commitment is to revolutionize the development process, ensuring the swift delivery of life-changing ideas and therapies to patients in need.
