Job Purpose: To improve the quality of care of patients in a clinical area by provision of an efficient medicines management service. This will include drug history taking and medicines reconciliation, facilitation of the use of patients own drugs, one-stop dispensing, clinical prioritisation, counselling patients about their medicines and discharge co-ordination/processing. Provide operational support to the dispensary, undertaking dispensing and checking duties. To be successful in applying for this role you will need: BTEC Level III in Pharmacy Services or NVQ Level III in Pharmacy Services or equivalent Certified Pharmacy Technician qualification Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and revalidation System Knowledge: SystmOne desirable Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician must have nationally recognised Medicines Management accreditation and if possible, medicines reconciliation. Previous experience of working in a varied ward environment essential. In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of Relevant Qualifications Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable. Why NHS Professionals?
