SALARY: £45,455 - £47,272 per annum + Generous Benefits (see below)
LOCATION: Hybrid working with a minimum of 40% of your time in the London Head Office. Other flexible working arrangements are available.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Philanthropy and Major Gifts Fundraising Manager with sound knowledge of high-value Major Gifts principles, prospect research experience and good team leadership and management skills.
Working as the Philanthropy and Major Gifts Fundraising Manager you will lead of five key areas of work including strategy, donor relations, team management, majors gifts events and other cross-team activities.
As the Philanthropy and Major Gifts Fundraising Manager you will be responsible for strategic and operational planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to ensure the team meets or exceeds annual targets through an innovative, ambitious, donor-centric approach to major donor fundraising.

DUTIES
Some of your duties as the Philanthropy and Major Gifts Fundraising Manager include:
•Develop and implement Major Donor strategic and operational plans with a focus on supporters who can donate above £50,000, preferably at six and seven-figure level
•Proactively qualify and assign prospects to members of the team
•Develop a strong pipeline of national and international major gift prospects using various methods to identify warm and cold opportunities
•Ensure due diligence research of all types (including donor identification, gift declarations, ethical checks and audit requirements) is completed
•Strengthen policies, processes and systems to ensure they are fit for purpose
•Develop trusted relationships with donors through devising and implementing cultivation, asking and stewardship plans
•Soliciting significant and principal gifts for agreed specific projects and programmatic themes from your own portfolio - either directly or through an appropriate peer to peer approach
•Work closely with Project Lead to ensure major donors’ objectives are coordinated and manage relevant donors and stakeholders
•Ensure that best practice is followed with respect to GDPR and safeguarding in relation to prospect & donor information storage, processing, and communication
•Oversee event planning by the MGP and the Major Donor team members to ensure they meet fundraising, cultivation and stewardship goals
•Consistently engage senior staff, trustees, clergy and ambassadors in peer-to-peer major donor programme event opportunities
•Provide Major Donor team leadership and day to day management for two Major Donor Executives through regular team meetings and other MGP members as required
•Hold regular 1:1 meetings to create development plans and review performance
•Assess training needs and train staff where appropriate
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience of securing 6- and 7-level gifts and the ability to train and inspire others within the team and beyond to do the same. You will also understand the importance of prospect research and move management to ensure that there is a strong pipeline of new warm and cold prospects.
You will have the ability to lead the organisation towards engaging leadership, trustees and clergy in major donor giving, so you will lead on developing the peer-to-peer approach with confidence and maturity.
In addition, the essential criteria for the role will include:
•Demonstrate major donor and philanthropy principles and operational strategies
•Ability to interrogate income figures and interpret data to achieve income growth
•Written, verbal and presentation communication skills
•Manage, motivate and develop teams
•Knowledge and awareness of the field of international development and humanitarian aid
•Working across complex donor relationships
