PHP Symfony Developer - Leeds - Hybrid (£38k - £50k)

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established, award winning eCommerce development company, work on their own proprietary ecommerce platform, gain experience working with Amazon Lambda and work in a structured Test-Driven Development environment.

Not only do they deliver tailored Shopify and BigCommerce based solutions, but they have also created their own headless eCommerce platform on Symfony.

THE ROLE:

You will be working on the next version of their eCommerce platform, moving it to a serverless environment using Amazon Lambda, and building end points to be consumed by the frontend, as well as creating and supporting high-performing and complex eCommerce stores.

This will entail:

  • Designing, developing and maintaining secure, scalable and high-quality web applications
  • Create new, innovative, secure and scalable features for existing web applications
  • Troubleshoot, debug and optimise applications
  • Work with QA team to implement appropriate testing and mitigate regression
  • Provide backend development resource to the wider business
  • Build reusable code and libraries to improve efficiency and maintainability

REQUIREMENTS:

Essential:?

  • Experience working in backend web development.
  • Minimum of 4 years using PHP
  • Solid understanding of Symfony (at least 3 years)
  • Use of ORMs such as Doctrine (and ideally SQL knowledge)
  • Working regularly with APIs and Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc)
  • Ability to switch context and focus regularly

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of payment gateways
  • Familiar with the use of Docker / Composer
