Our client based in Ely is seeking a Design Engineer with previous experience in designing pipework/assemblies for bespoke engineering packages.
You will have knowledge of current legislation and piping codes such as ASME B31.3 and British standards.

Duties to include:
- Laying out pipe routing on process drawings, pipe specifications and project requirements (e.g space restrictions, process requirements and maintenance access).
- Generate conceptual 3D models.
- Perform pipe stress analysis using Caesar II software and producing detailed pipe stress reports.
- Create 2D CAD drawings such as piping isometrics, fabrication drawings and GA’s for manufacture.
- Producing BOMs for purchasing.
- Reviewing and interpreting customer specifications and national/international codes and standards.
- Resolve technical queries.
- Participate in key meetings
- Occasion travel to a second office and site visits with clients.
- Perform pipe support calculations.
- Manage Junior CAD staff
Skills/Experience Required:
- Proficient in CAD Software (2D AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Caesar II and Navisworks)
- Previous experience in designing pipework/assemblies for bespoke engineering packages.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Degree or HND qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
