About the role
Astute's Power Division are partnering with a leading EPC Contractor in the UK Power Industry. We are currently recruiting for a Piping Supervisor to join their team on the new build Waste to Energy facility based in Chester for initially 12 months.
Role responsibilities for the Piping Supervisor position in Chester:

• Directly reports to the Mechanical Lead / Construction Manager.
• Oversee the installation of carbon steel and stainless steel pipework systems on a large EFW construction site.
• Proactively undertake and promote the use of behavioural and incentivised HSE work programmes, and campaigns, ensuring all aspects of Site HSE requirements are adhered to by all site-based personnel.
• Ensure all quality control checks and tests are instigated, with records maintained and available as required for pipework installation, pre and post-test checks, hydrostatic testing, flushing and drying, safety relief valve installation, all in accordance with contractors' agreed ITP, method statements and project specifications.
• Review, monitor and report on contractor's work and progress.
• Ensure contractors follow approved procedures, plans and method statements.
• Ensure the most current design documents are used to complete the work and that any design changes are approved prior to implementation.
• Ensure that all construction milestone dates are completed as scheduled.
• Ensure that all construction activities meet quality and workmanship standards.
• Ensure required permits are in place prior to the start of the work at site.
• Prepare reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast and make recommendations as necessary.
• Coordinates relevant activities with other disciplines or areas and clients' resident representatives, as instructed by project management.

Qualifications and skills required for this role:

• Construction pipework/pipefitting supervisory experience.
• 5 years heavy Power Plant Construction site mechanical and piping installation experience to include large/small bore and instrument piping systems and supports and equipment setting.
• Time served, or HNC or above in a relevant subject e.g. engineering, construction.
• IOSH managing safety or SSSTS qualification.
• CSCS card or UK H&S passport CCNSG.
• SMSTS (Desirable)
• Positive attitude.

• £400.00 to £450.00 per day Outside IR35
