Here at Bournemouth & Poole College, we are looking to recruit a newPlacement Administratoron a full-time basis. In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £20,705 per annum [pending 3.4% approx. pay increase].

The Placement AdministratorRole:

As a Placement Administrator, youensure the delivery of an outstanding administration service to the Lead Industry Placement Advisor, Industry Placement Advisors, and the Executive Director of Commercial Partnerships. This role is integral to the smooth running of work and industry placements for students.

You will work closely alongside the Lead Industry Placement Advisor, Industry Placement Advisors, Curriculum Teams and as well as other key departments such as Business Development, Apprenticeships, Marketing and Careers Advisors supporting placements across the College.

Responsibilities as our Placement Administrator will include:

  • Providing all aspects of administrative support to the Industry Placement Advisor Team
  • Working with the Lead Industry Placement Advisor and Industry Placement Advisors to maintain administrative processes and systems
  • Working closely with the Health & Safety Officer to ensure checks are in place
  • Acting as a point of contact for employer enquiries or concerns regarding placements
  • Monitoring and responding to enquires via the central email inbox
  • On occasion, visiting students or contacting at work placements and monitoring progress on behalf of the Industry Placement Advisor Team
  • Supporting the Industry Placement Advisors in ensuring that the planning and completion of placement visits are coordinated in the most effective and financially efficient manner possible
  • Liaising with the Lead Industry Placement Advisor to ensure monitoring and recording of industry placements/WEX (work experience) is in line with the Gatsby Benchmarks and cross college Careers Strategy
  • Attending relevant meetings and training sessions as required by the Lead Industry Placement Advisor
  • Supporting with the monitoring and recording of student industry placements/work related progress and attendance using ProMonitor
  • Participating in student admissions, including recruitment/interviewing of students and attending open days, career and employability events etc as necessary
  • Participating in relevant marketing activities
  • Keeping up to date with relevant curriculum area developments and legislation

As our Placement Administrator, you’llideally have:

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths
  • Experience of working with students or young people
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced administrative environment
  • A good understanding of administration processes
  • Good command of the English language and grammar
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications
  • Understanding of the importance of work/industry placements in a student’s development
  • The introduction and advantages of T Levels
  • Demonstrable administration skills such as planning, organising and tracking data.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Commitment to helping students in their personal development.
  • Reliability and integrity to ensure high standards of professional conduct.
  • Level 2 in Safeguarding (or commitment to complete Level 2 prior to commencing employment).
