About the role
The Placement Brokerage Team in Haringey Children’s Services is looking for a Placement Officer to join with a focus on securing placements for children in care, alongside sourcing temporary accommodation for families with NRPF and family support services.
You will work closely with our social work, commissioning and finance teams, internal/external fostering, residential and supported accommodation and TA providers to explore suitable placement /accommodation options.
Essentially you will be responsible for sourcing and matching suitable placements for children. Participate in a duty rota system dealing with all placement queries and requests, ensuring placement referrals contain sufficient and relevant information, managing and progressing a placement finding case load. Negotiating packages, completing Individual Placement Agreements and ensuring services are updated on the Children’s Services data base.
About you
We are looking for a approachable, resilient, flexible person to join an established team, who is able to work with the team but also be able to work independently and use their own initiative. Ideally they will have experience of working in a brokerage/ placements team or demonstrate proven transferable skills and understanding of the needs of children and young people in care.
Excellent communication and partnership working to develop and maintain relationships at all levels. Alongside good IT and negotiation skills.
