Salary from £21,495 to £39,993 pa, depending on skills and experience (pay award pending)
PLUS subsidised lease car/cash alternative of £2,080 pa
PLUS, ` Enhanced Recruitment Payment` of up to 10% of starting salary

We are seeking a Planning Officer to assist in providing a high quality, customer focused Planning and Development service delivering strategic development. Working flexibly as part of the Strategic Applications team you would work on a wide range of planning and development tasks and be responsible for:

Progressing, assessing and assisting the determination of a range of applications including the need for planning permission, applications for prior notification, non-material amendments, discharge of conditions, listed and advertisement consents within agreed timescales. Monitoring, investigating and working with others to deal with alleged breaches of planning conditions and planning control on strategic development sites. Handling appeals, pre-application requests and enquiries from customers   

The Borough has an excellent quality of life with growing towns and attractive countryside including two separate areas designated as being of outstanding natural beauty.  It is close to the Channel coast, has good schools, and house prices are lower than much of the south east region.  London is just 38 minutes from Ashford by train.
