Planning Solicitor – International Law Firm – 6m FTC.

Taylor Root have partnered with an international law firm in their search for an experienced Planning Solicitor to join their leading Real Estate, Energy & Infrastructure team. This role will be offered on a initial 6 month fixed term basis.

The Firm

Our client is leading international law firm known for working with clients in some of the worlds most dynamic industries and sectors. They have a reputation for specialising in technology, communications and media.

The Team

You will be joining the firms leading real estate practice, where the Planning team sit. The group has a strong background in the hotel, hospitality and leisure sectors as well as luxury residences, build to rents and sports. The team have recently represented a large beverages company in their acquisition of a brewery with a long running project to expand.

The Role

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

• Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of planning and environmental matters including planning applications, environmental impact assessments, planning and highways agreements, planning appeals and judicial review, planning enforcement, listed building consent applications, and compulsory purchase.
• Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents such section 106 agreements, section 278 agreements, planning conditionality, and agreements on environmental liabilities.
• Advise on planning and environmental issues arising in real estate, corporate and financing transactions.
• Manage planning appeals proceeding by way of the written representations, hearing, or inquiry procedure, including providing legal advice on appeal strategy, instructing Counsel, and reviewing and drafting appeal documents.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have upwards of 5 PQE with experience in planning and environmental law, preferable withing a another top 100 law firm. You will have experience dealing with above responsibilities.
