Job title: Planning & Logistics Administrator
Job location: Heanor, Derbyshire
Pay Rate: £25,000 - £28,000
Shifts: Monday - Friday 8.30-5.00pm
Hours per week: 37.5 hours
Duration: Permanent
CLIENT SUMMARY
Our client is a leader in the aerospace industry for engine dampeners, now in a programme of expansion into various other industries, predominantly, renewable energy generation.
JOB PURPOSE
* Responsible for the creation of production order folders for team leaders
* Responsible for the creation of work orders including the collation of drawings ahead of listings
* Responsible for the creation of shortage reports by reviewing stock levels and requirements for current projects to be sent to procurement
* Responsible for the creation of shippable items on NAV/Work orders identifying all operational requirements, including any supporting paperwork
* Responsible for the creation of process drawings, identifying in house opportunities and sub con items
* Responsible for the recruitment and management of temporary labour
* Responsible for the creation part profiling using Pro-Cut, creation of nests using pro-cut software, Identify raw material to support creation of BOM's
* Responsible for the creation of material traceability sheets for plasma cut items
* Responsible for the creation of final inspection report templates for inspection
JOB ACTIVITIES
* Act as technical support for drawing and dimensional queries for the shop floor when required
* Act as technical support for procurement when required
* Troubleshoot missing items on production orders
* Expedite production live work orders
* To assist with the creation, reporting, and management detailed plans for the Production group
* To assist with forecasting the key requirements needed to deliver against plan on behalf of the project managers, to be delivered as a demand to Production, QHSE, and Procurement
* To assist with the coordination of key activities including capacity planning, high level resource requirements, and facility needs to meet internal customer demand
* Offer recommendations, where relevant, to existing programmes, projects, and processes
* To assist by ensuring that all operational plans are fully aligned to both internal and external customer facing plans
* To assist the Production Departments compliance with quality, HS&E standards and current legislations.
* Assist and update resource plans for the business
* Assist with any project dashboard updates
* Act as a delegate for the Planning Manager where required
* Assist with opening and closing of all production work orders
* Assist with the creation of weld control forms and liaise with the IWC when required
* Assist with the creation of final inspection reports for internal and external customers
* To assist, when necessary, in the identification and control of the NDT requirements (including proof load testing) for the shop floor ensuring all documentation is available and correct ready for inclusion in project quality documentation.
* Assist in the provision of estimating services for all aspects of 'Production' works undertaken on behalf of the company, ensuring a timely submission to the relevant personnel.
* Advise and liaise with other departments as required at concept, design and manufacturing stages to ensure optimum safety and least cost for prospective and planned work whilst working within current regulations, legislations, customer and the company specifications.
* To provide support in the production of DXF files and nests when required
SUPERVISION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead by example on matters of HS&E, welfare and codes of conduct.
* Identify and implement areas of improvement within the Production Department.
* Work under his/her own initiative and on occasion may be expected to guide and/or supervise staff.
* Work to attain optimum performance within the Production Department.
* Maximise the use of the company management control and IT systems to ensure accurate and auditable project, job and material control.
* Ensure that the Planning Manager & Production Manager are informed of major developments and/or problems within the production Department, its supply chain and customers. Providing permanent monitors and records of relevant issues.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
* GCSE Grade 5 or above in Maths and English or equivalent
* Planning experience in a manufacturing/production environment
* Creation and management of project plans
DESIRABLE EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
* Industry recognised qualification in engineering (Manufacturing) and/or planning/scheduling
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
* Use of ERP systems
* Use of Microsoft Projects
* Use of Microsoft office software
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
* Previous experience in creating and maintaining project plans
