Job description

The Role:

As a Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of construction plant machinery and equipment, both in our yard and on our various sites across London. Your primary objective will be to ensure that all equipment is in optimal working condition and meets safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on construction plant machinery and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is safe to use and complies with health and safety standards, OEM guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, identify root causes, and implement necessary repairs.
  • Conduct Pre-Hire Inspections and End of Hire Inspections to assess equipment condition and identify any damages or issues.
  • Maintain clean and tidy work areas and conduct pre-use/weekly inspections of work and safety equipment.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair works, including updating relevant systems in a timely manner.
  • Ensure a suitable level of parts and consumables are available for required works and request additional parts as needed to minimise downtime.
  • Follow waste disposal procedures and environmental regulations related to hazardous materials/fluids.
  • Be prepared to respond to emergency maintenance requests at our sites, following site rules and safety protocols.

This role is Monday to Friday. This role will be based in our Colnbrook Yard, however, will be mobile out to site when required. Company Van & Fuel included.

About You:

To be considered for this role you must be driven and enthusiastic. In addition, we are looking for someone with the following skills and attributes:

  • Previous experience in maintenance, servicing, and repair of construction plant machinery and equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards, OEM guidelines, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and record-keeping abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work mobile and respond to emergency maintenance requests.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
