An exciting opportunity has arisen at one of Allied Bakeries manufacturing sites to join the manufacturing management bread team. To lead and engage our plant teams safely and to produce our quality products through optimum plant performance and meet all our customer needs and compliance standards. This role reports into the Manufacturing Manager. This is a day based role working 42 hours, there maybe a requirement to support on shift as business requires
Key Accountabilities
- Engages in a Safety-First culture by improving and maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring all team members are aware and complying with Health and Safety, Wellbeing and Environmental standards, legal and company requirements.
- Effective management, development and motivation of the plant teams to ensure high levels of quality, performance, customer satisfaction and delivering a “Manufacturing Excellence” operation.
- Set clear goals, targets and expectations of performance for plant team, through KPI’s aligned with the business plan.
- Adherence to Quality and Environmental Management Systems, BRC accreditation and complaint level service.
- Ensure optimal labour utilisation, to focus on yield, damage, OEE and PDP and be audit ready everyday.
- Build and develop effective relationships with the site teams to ensure cross functional working and across the wider AMB business for delivering optimum performance.
- Recruit, train and develop operatives, who reflect the Company.
- Develop continuous improvement culture and execute action plans.
The Right Person
Essential
- Lead by example with the ‘Safety First’ message is able to demonstrate a good standard of Health and Food Safety record with an awareness of environmental factors.
- A good understanding of manufacturing systems and procedures with a knowledge of safety standards and sustaining a continuous improvement. With a focus on results, you will have the ability to operate and make decisions effectively.
- Experience in a managerial operations role in a commercially challenging environment with strong leadership skills, confident, open and honest style of communicating.
- Experience and evidence of accepting and driving ownership and accountability to drive team performance and quality output.
- A strong customer focus, always willing to go the extra mile to deliver a good service.
- A lateral thinker with good critical reasoning skills capable of identifying opportunities for improvement and delivering pragmatic solutions with high commercial acumen.
- A self – starter with the energy and determination to set the standards and drive quality, performance and change.
- PC literate including a working ability with Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint and Word; capable of using Management Systems.
- Numerate with the ability to analyse and communicate clear, concise information.
Advantageous
- Previous experience in a FMCG company.
- Budgetary skills.
- Preferably educated to degree or equivalent standard.
