Your new role

To provide and maintain an efficient and effective procurement service within the organisation. To deliver and support the department and the wider business in plant hire and the provision of site set up and prelim orders whilst driving continuous improvement to deliver a competitive advantage.

  • Carry out all aspects of the procurement process in accordance with organisational Procurement and Supply Chain Management Strategy, under guidance and supervision in relation to the following:
  • Administration and preparation of request for proposals and quotations utilising suppliers from the appropriate company Approved Suppliers Database
  • Compilation of data relating to supplier responses, highlighting inconsistencies and differences, presenting information and responses in a manor to enable evaluation.
  • Entry of appropriate data and information into all procurement systems as required.
  • Raise Purchase Orders for Materials and Plant Hire requirements in line with company policies and procedure within an ERP system.
  • Liaise with sites to assist with the resolution of supply issues as and when required.
  • Provide regular inputs to reports on site set up activities and supplier performance.
  • Monitor vendor database to ensure that it contains up-to-date details of available suppliers.
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of vendor price files.
  • Support sites through managing live hire reports
  • Engage with suppliers and sites over loss and damage costs
  • Manage relationships and supply chain agreements with selected suppliers, including renewal; performance; spend; strengths; weaknesses and opportunities through meetings on a regular basis.
  • Focus on exceeding minimum service expectations by delivering an agile, value-adding service with a deep understanding of customer requirements, technical competence, functional knowledge and process efficiency.
  • Investigate and support the resolution of supplier invoice queries.
  • Be aware of the Company's standing on Health, Safety and Environment at all times.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified to NC, Higher Grade or equivalent. An interest in studying towards MCIPS membership is advantageous.
  • The role will require excellent analytical and IT skills, with a measured approach to decision-making.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of data entry is a critical part of the role.
  • Experience in procuring or hiring a non-operated plant or in a plant-related environment would be advantageous.
  • The ability to adopt a pragmatic, yet disciplined approach to process compliance, is essential.
  • Tackle problems head-on and work to resolve them without delay.
  • Ability to use initiative and prioritise workload. Willing to go the extra mile to exceed expectations.
    Continually search for ways to add value and take performance to the next level.
  • Put aside personal agendas to work for the benefit of customers and suppliers and other stakeholders.
