Plant & Transport Manager

Due to an increase in workload our client is looking to expand with an experienced Plant & Transport Manager to oversee the team. The current mixed fleet comprises of 100+ vehicles including HGV's, Pick-Ups, Vans, and Cars, in addition to multiple plant items.

Salary to £45k | Company Vehicle | Pension | Life Assurance | 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

Key Essentials:

* Reporting to senior management; your role will involve overall management of a P&T team in utilising and maintaining the fleet to the best of its capabilities

* Ensuring that all vehicles are routinely serviced with essential maintenance carried out keeping in line with O Licence regulations

* Ensuring that all P&T records are kept up to date

* Enforce the group vehicle policy; ensure that all drivers / operators have the correct / valid licence for the fleet being driven

* Ensure that vehicle tracking systems are regularly monitored with the ability to provide alerts and reports in case of any incidents

* Maintain relations with hire companies; regularly negotiate rates / agreements

* Ensure fleet insurance premiums are monitored on a bi-annual basis, negotiating with brokers

* Point of contact when investigating fleet accidents; manage claims with affected parties

* Provide fleet recommendations to senior management - comparing asset life cycle ownership costs against hire costs, taking into account contract requirements
* Assisting with the purchasing / leasing of P&T including service agreements

* Monitor fuel consumption

* Regularly attending transport and management meetings

* Attending regular planning meetings to understand plant movement for the future, information with the P&T department

Requirements:

* Previous experience as a Plant & Transport Manager / Coordinator for a Civil Engineering or Utility company

* Qualified with Transport Manager CPC and should have excellent knowledge of Goods Vehicles Operator licence (O Licence) requirements

* It is essential that you have good I.T Skills in Microsoft Office packages
