About You:

You will be part of the busy Estates Management Repairs/Voids team undertaking multi-million pound projects throughout our estates across the city.  Your duties will include.

  • Can you carry out all aspects of Plastering? i.e. Boarding, Skimming, Dot and Dab, Patch Plastering
  • Carrying out repairs on tenanted, void properties and communal areas.
  • Undertaking full ceiling and wall reboards and reskims in tenanted and void properties.
  • To be able to “Artex” ceilings and walls. Including patch repairs.
  • Re-tiling walls in both kitchen and bathrooms in accordance with policy set out by Housing Operations void standard.
  • Render repairs and any masonry repairs across the city 

Experience and knowledge in this field is essential.

You will need a full driving licence in order to drive our vehicles and will also be required to undergo a DBS check as part of the pre-employment checks. 

As the work is varied a flexible approach is required to meet changing needs and tight deadlines. Excellent customer service skills, enthusiasm, and a ‘can do’ attitude is all essential as you’ll be our ambassador when you visit our customers’ homes to carry out repairs and installations to the highest of standards You will liaise with residents, peers and colleagues on a daily basis so communication and customer focus will be essential to the role. Organisational, customer service, time management and physical skills are key to this role.

You will work 37-hour week plus an additional 2 hours TOIL (Time Off in Lieu). The TOIL equates to 12 days annual leave year, in addition to your basic entitlement of 26 days annual leave per year (not including bank holidays).  This leave increases to 29 days after you have completed 5 years of continuous service. Other employee benefits range from childcare vouchers and discounted travel to money off at selected restaurants, shops and salons.

  • Please note the salary quoted is based on full time hours (37 hours per week)
  • The working hours for this role are 37 hours plus 2 hours toil per week.
  • This is a permanent position.   
  • Please note that appointments are usually made at the bottom of the salary scale.
  • This post requires a DBS check.
