Brief Description
Pektron Group Ltd is searching for an Plastic Injection Moulding Process Technician. You will be working in our newly opened, purpose built Injection Moulding facility.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensure tools are ready for use.
Carry out all aspects of tool change within Health and Safety guide lines.
Ensure tooling is properly prepared prior to storage.
Assist the NPD process for new tooling.
Maintain tooling service and process records / documentation.
Develop all aspects of process control, setting and to achieve the quality standard required for products produced in the Injection Moulding Department.
Optimise process parameters to ensure that part quality is achieved and output maintained at the required level. Ensure that all process / setting changes are recorded and change history is kept up to date for traceability.
Ensure that the Production Schedule laid down by the MRP system is followed exactly and issues escalated appropriately.
Make sure that raw material is stored and processed correctly prior to moulding and that sufficient material is always available to support production volumes.
Ensure 5S standards are maintained.
Identify Kaizen opportunities and lead / participate in improvement programs (SMED, OEE improvement etc).
Train, develop and support Setter/Supervisors.
Work with Pektron designers and external tool makers to ensure new mouldings and modifications to existing mouldings are ‘right first time’.
Experience of Engel machinery and automation would be an advantage.
Working hours: 39 per week 7.55 am to 4.25 pm (3.25pm Friday) – flexibility required to cover holidays on other shifts.
