Key Duties:
- Collaborate with Product Teams to ensure best practices in developing, testing, deploying, and supporting products on AWS.
- Design, build, and support services for software delivery with a focus on running OpenShift 4.x and supporting applications on the client's AWS Platform.
- Support mature on-prem dev platforms estate with ansible.
- Develop, build, and support libraries that wrap and present platform features, leveraging CDK constructs and Terraform.
- Lead the deprecation of on-prem products in favour of cloud-based alternatives.
- Contribute to the design, build, and delivery of monitoring, alerting, metrics, and logging strategy.
- Support a community of 100+ Ubuntu-based dev laptops, managing updates with Ubuntu Landscape, designing the build process, and troubleshooting.
- Improve interaction with Prisma cloud monitoring guardrails and ensure platform compliance with the client's governance requirements.
- Continuously update core dev platforms on-prem, on cloud, and serverless, including assurance.
- Maintain and evolve the current delivery platform, including Artifactory, GitLab, Elastic/Opensearch, InfluxDB, Jetbrains, Ubuntu Landscape, Jenkins, and the client's Container Images.
- Champion ideas, changes, and designs beneficial to the team, influencing peers and key stakeholders.
- Assist in prioritizing the backlog by providing insight into the architectural roadmap and technical benefits and costs.
- Support and deliver disaster recovery assurance of digital services.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Significant commercial experience with containerization technologies, CI/CD methodology, infrastructure as code, networking fundamentals, and designing/building platforms in AWS.
- Strong expertise in observability, telemetry, security tooling/practices, and adding value at all stages of the software lifecycle.
- Proficiency with AWS Lambda, CDK, S3, Cloud Formation, API Gateway, EC2, AMIs, containerized platforms (Openshift, Kubernetes, ECS, Fargate), Python, Bash, Ansible, Groovy, GitLab, Artifactory, ElasticSearch, OpenSearch, Jenkins, Kibana, Grafana, and AWSLinux, RHEL, Ubuntu.
- Experience with AWS security and networks.
- Demonstrable experience introducing new efficient processes or concepts within the DevOps environment and collaborating with business stakeholders.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery models such as Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks.
