Our client enables those with disabilities, their families, and their carers to lead fulfilling lives.
They offer a diverse range of services for all ages and abilities.
Their wonderful site has great facilities and services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, a specialist nursery, hydrotherapy, holiday clubs, personal support in the home, short breaks, fitness and rehabilitation. They also offer many activities such as trips out, art, baking, swimming, and much more!
They are now looking for a Play and Youth Clubs Supervisor to join them on a part-time, permanent basis, working 20 – 35 hours per week. You will work Saturdays and Sundays, as well as evenings in termtime and day shifts during school holidays.

The Role
As a Play and Youth Clubs Supervisor, you will manage, plan and deliver our client’s Play and Youth schemes for children and young people with disabilities who are on short breaks.

 

Specifically, supporting children and young people to gain enjoyment and development through Play and leisure, you will ensure they are safe and feel valued.

 

You will motivate, guide, role model and support staff in building relationships with children and young people, enabling them to engage effectively, as well as protecting the children from harm.

 

Additionally, you will:

 

- Ensure that the scheme is suitably resourced with staff and equipment

- Lead before and after ‘briefings’ to plan and evaluate sessions

- Establish a ‘team’ ethos to support the delivery of services

- Identify staff training needs, good performance and areas for development

- Get involved in scheme activities and oversee all aspect of care

 

Please note, due to our client’s open and collaborative working environment and the nature of their work with children and adults with disabilities, all office-based roles can experience periods of elevated noise levels and some elements of disruption.


About You
To be considered as a Play and Youth Clubs Supervisor, you will need:
 

- Experience of working with children and young people with disabilities

- The ability to lead a team, encouraging them to share best practice and exchange knowledge, skills and ideas in a supportive environment

- The ability to record information accurately to meet the needs of the child, our client and Ofsted

- A good level of IT literacy

- Excellent interpersonal skills

- A current first aid certificate (or the willingness to be trained)
