As a Plumbing Technician at SES Water, you will play a crucial role in our mission to provide high-quality water services to our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include replacing and fitting of new domestic and commercial water meters, resolving technical issues, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role will involve working outdoors in various weather conditions, as well as within customer and industrial premises. You’d be responsible for resolving customer and technical issues promptly, replacing both domestic and commercial existing water meters and installing new water meters, both externally in chambers and internally within customers' plumbing systems.

Main Duties:

  • Replace water meters at domestic and commercial properties while accurately recording all relevant information.
  • Collaborate with a two-man team to replace large diameter commercial meters.
  • Replace touch-read sensors, lids, and faulty components related to meter installations.
  • Perform plumbing work to locate and repair internal leaks within customer premises.
  • Investigate high water consumption, troubleshoot internal plumbing issues, and restore blocked water supplies at customer premises.
  • Maintain appointments and accurately record all required information, updating Network/Retail Services on investigation and repair outcomes.
  • Assist with internal/external meter installation programs when necessary to meet program requirements.
  • Set up/program AMI/AMR meters using a laptop or other IT equipment.
  • Collaborate with other teams to resolve customer issues and scheduling queries.

Requirements:

  • Educated to GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Relevant Plumbing Qualification (City & Guilds).
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of water and pipe fittings.
  • Experience in programming radio head meters (desirable).
  • Relevant plumbing experience.
  • Experience in the water industry or highway/utility sector.
  • Relevant experience in a customer-facing role

Skills and Competencies Required:

  • Full Driving Licence.
  • Availability for a potential 1 in 4 standby
  • Practical plumbing/heating experience.
  • NRSWA Qualification (desirable).
  • EUSR Hygiene Certificate (desirable).
  • Gas safety certificate (desirable).
