SEN Support Worker | Greenwich, South East London | ASAP start

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with PMLD, ensuring their safety, well-being, and personal care needs are met.
  • Assist students in their daily routines, helping them with mobility, feeding, toileting, and other activities of daily living.
  • Collaborate with the teaching staff to implement individualised education plans and strategies, tailored to meet the complex needs of each student.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere, promoting a sense of belonging and encouraging the development of social skills and independence.
  • Monitor and record student progress, ensuring accurate reporting to the SENCo and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment, adapting resources and equipment as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with students with PMLD, personal care needs, and complex requirements is essential.
  • An understanding of ASD and how to support students with it.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, combined with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A willingness to engage in continuous professional development and stay updated with best practices in SEN support.
  • Relevant certifications or training in SEN support and personal care will be highly advantageous.
