Job description

The Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association is excited to be working in collaboration with the Neurological Alliance! Your time will be spent 3 days per week with the MND Association and 2 days with the Neurological Alliance.

This is a home-based opportunity with travel requirements to: MND Association offices in Northampton/London, and London/ Leeds for the Neurological Alliance.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Involvement Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of both the MND Association and the Neurological Alliance
As an Involvement Lead, you will work across both organisations to place individuals affected by MND and other neurological conditions at the heart of our respective initiatives. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the subject matter expert on co-production and ensure its integration into service development and activities across both organisations.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to formulate tools, processes, and policies supporting the implementation of co-production and involvement strategies.
  • Foster knowledge exchange with a network of organisations, including the Neurological Alliance, to share experiences and enhance peer-to-peer support.
  • Develop an understanding of the challenges faced by people affected by MND and other neurological conditions, informing co-production activities.
  • Recruit people affected by MND and other neurological conditions for co-production groups, forums, networks, and other relevant opportunities within both organisations.
  • Ensure development and learning opportunities for those involved in co-production activities.
  • Collaborate with teams to involve people affected by MND and other neurological conditions in the development of consultation activities, such as patient experience surveys.
  • Continuously evaluate the impact of involvement activities, collecting data and evidence to showcase their value.
  • Work with the Neurological Alliance fundraiser to develop bids for involvement work, including a new Co-Production Network

As an Involvement Lead, you will be at the forefront of driving positive change for individuals affected by MND and other neurological conditions. Your role will be instrumental in shaping the direction of both organisations, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced individual with a proven track record in delivering impactful engagement initiatives within the public, research, or charity sector. You will excel in advising on both strategic and operational aspects, utilising a variety of platforms to engage the public. Experience navigating complex stakeholder dynamics and fostering relationships with key individuals is essential. Strong ability to engage with diverse communities, you will bring excellent facilitation, communication, and organisational skills.
