This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Council’s newly established Revenues and Benefits Training Team. Enthusiastic, positive and customer focused, you will possess both excellent communication skills and technical Revenues and Benefits knowledge and be committed to delivering excellent service.
The Training Team will be responsible for providing training and Support to new and existing staff at all levels across the Council’s Revenues and Benefits Service.
For this role you will need a range of skills and experience including: -
- In depth experience of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support and Council Tax.
- Recent and relevant experience of developing and delivering training programmes.
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent I.T. skills including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word and PowerPoint.
- Practical working knowledge of Revenues and Benefits IT systems.
Although the Revenues and Benefits service operates a hybrid working policy, the Training Officer role will require a significant amount of office based working.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a Basic DBS check.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
