Policy & Research Advisor

Fixed Term Contract for 12 months

Grade 5 - £40,221 - £48,474 Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review

Working 36.5 hours per week

We are looking for a professional engagement lead to join our team in Public Participation for 12 months.   The team are leading on a number of strategic priorities with a particular focus on face to face and online engagement with citizens, communities, and users of our services. 

So, if you want to make a difference and help the council on its recovery plan and lead key initiatives to get the voice of the citizen heard at the top table then these roles may well be for you! 

One of the key areas of focus will be Shaping Birmingham’s Future Together, which is a strategic partnership with key stakeholders including citizens and communities to drive forward meaningful engagement that makes a real difference and informs council service. 

You will need to be able to work as part of a team and on your own, deputising for the Head of Service as appropriate and will be required to use your own initiative to provide advice, guidance, and tools to enable citizen involvement at its highest level through to enabling the voice of the citizen to be heard. 

The role is currently for 12 months, there is no confirmation that these will be extended and any internal candidates may be able to apply for secondments.  However, it is a really exciting time to join the team if you want to make a difference to the future of Birmingham.
