Policy and Standards ManagerFlexible UK Locations / FlexFirst hybrid workingOverviewBritish Gas Business (BGB) is the leading provider of energy to SMEs in the UK and is focused on helping its customers use energy simply, sustainably and affordably.In this new role you'll work with the Head of Conduct, Governance & Risk, across BGB to develop, deliver, and implement conduct & compliance frameworks, policy & Standards. You will also manage a small team and will be required to visit some of our key BGB
locations including Edinburgh, Leicester and Windsor.The RoleIn your new role you will manage a team leading the design, development & Implementation of frameworks to manage conduct & compliance in British Gas Business, adhering to Ofgem and other industry standards. To do this you will need to develop standards and
policies through collaboration with the business which will deliver good customer outcomes across all regulatory frameworks. You will ensure associated KPIs are identified and reported on, mitigating any risks, escalating where necessary and ensuring adherence
to standards.You will also provide guidance, support and input on customer treatments and potentially complex conduct issues to ensure good customer outcomes. Managing the delivery of new regulatory obligations into the business and associated activity will also be part
of you role. You will lead and maintain external relationships with both DESNZ (Department for Energy Security & Net Zero) and SEGB (Smart Energy GB).In order to achieve compliance you will need to design and produce a Management Information System (MIS) - compiling data and producing regular reporting, as required by senior management and business forums, to inform Business compliance.The PersonWe would like you to have experience operating in a complex regulatory environment within a blue-chip businesses (energy, banking, telecommunications, utilities or similar).You will also have experience of developing policies, processes and standards in line with regulatory frameworks. A passion for understanding the customer and their needs is also key, backed by strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal
skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity and build relationships of influence with senior executives, to collaborate effectively to achieve common goals will be critical for this role. You will be an adept leader who can coach teams and have strong operational
