Theatre Porter

Location: Berkshire Independent Hospital, Reading

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Full-time, Shift patterns between 07.00am-8.30pm, Monday to Saturday

Salary: Depending on experience + Benefits

Summary:

The Berkshire Independent Hospital is one of Berkshire’s leading private hospitals with an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare, treatments and services. The hospital, built in 1993, has 43 individual patient rooms all with en suite facilities. By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services. The three fully equipped theatres with a seven-bedded recovery area are particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures offered, such as arthroscopy, hip and knee replacement, spinal discectomy. A dedicated day surgery suite is suitable for minor surgery and endoscopy.

The role:

We currently had a great opportunity for an Theatre Porter to join our team at Berkshire Independent Hospital, based in Reading.

The role is physically demanding and involves working with Waste removal, Medical gas bottle changing, Handling and placing deliveries, Movement of patient trolleys and beds, taking in Laundry deliveries and plenty of other varied manual handling duties for which full training will be provided. We are currently looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, computer literate person with good communication and interpersonal skills. You will have ideally worked in a similar Porter position previously, however full training will be given.

Flexibility to work shifts patterns between the hours of 7.00am – 8.30pm, Monday to Saturday

  • The ideal candidate will be happy to work in a manual role

  • Previous Healthcare experience would be advantageous

  • Exceptional Customer Service skills

  • Has a full clean driving licence
