We are currently recruiting for a Porter at Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa, part of Hand Picked Hotels. The Seasonal roles run between March - October 2024.
Nestled on the edge of beautiful St Aubin’s Bay in St Helier, Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa is a sophisticated 5 Star resort sitting at the island’s bustling heart. Boasting 123 bedrooms, many with ocean views, this Jersey hotel has gained an enviable reputation as the ultimate wedding venue thanks to its close proximity to the bay’s beautiful sweeping beach. For a unique culinary experience, Grand Jersey’s jewel in its crown is Tassili, an exceptional fine dining restaurant. Tassili boasts 4 AA Rosettes in honour of chef Nicolas Valmagna’s creative flair for combining local ingredients with classic French flavours.

About the Role
- The role of our Porters is to welcome and engage with our guests through every step of their stay, delivering an exceptional guest experience, by putting the guest at the heart of everything you do.
- Porters will demonstrate their knowledge of the hotel & local area to provide thoughtful recommendations to tailor to the guests stay and enhance their experience, helping to create magical memories.
- Build and maintain relationships within the team and other departments to ensure communication is clear and be aware of all the days activities.
- Most of all we will want you to be inspired, have fun and enjoy being part of our Hand Picked Team.
About you:
- To be considered for this role you will have knowledge and experience of working in a luxury four or five star hotel.
- Be passionate about going above and beyond for our guests and recognise and skilfully act on opportunities to make the guest experience memorable through offering or suggesting appropriate hotel products and facilities.
- Local knowledge of the surrounding area and places of interest would be advantageous.
- Be able to demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence, enabling you to be able to anticipate our guests needs ensuring they receive a Hand Picked experience.
- Through your enthusiasm and willing approach, you will demonstrate how you find solutions to any scenario.
- Act calmly and professionally, maintaining an outwardly positive attitude even when under pressure.
Company Benefits
- A competitive salary package of £13.00 per hour plus a share of service charge.
- End of season loyalty bonus depending on length of contract.
- Live in Accommodation charged at between £72 -£84 per week inclusive of all meals and bills.
- This is a Full-Time role working 5 days out of 7 including weekends on a rota basis, which may vary depending on business needs.
- Pro rata equivalent of 29 holidays per annum – which will be paid at the end of your seasonal assignment.
- Use of Health Club Facilities including Gym and swimming pool (restrictions apply).
